Graduated from Calvin College with a B.A in Business, Concentrations in Finance and Operations.
Fell in love with helping people through two nonprofit internships while studying at Calvin, with Mel Trotter Ministries and The Other Way Ministries.
Tyler has a desire to help young people, and have a passion for golf. Volunteered for four months with The First Tee of Chattanooga, before returning to Grand Rapids to help start this chapter.
In June of 2011, after 4 months of fundraising, The First Tee of West Michigan was chartered. Tyler led the way with our Board of Directors, securing funding from corporations, individuals, and through a successful events and programming.
In 2011, The First Tee of West Michigan worked with 73 students through on-course programming, and an additional 198 through various one-time events. Due the year's success, Tyler was nominated for Young Non-Profit Professional Network’s (YNPN) Exemplary Executive Award.
In 2012, Tyler and his staff and volunteers worked with 155 participants, and an additional 166 through various one time events. In addition, over 1,400 students were introduced to The First Tee in schools through the National School Program.
In his free time, Tyler is the assistant coach for Calvin College’s golf team.
